What we stand for
PERICLO IS A PLATFORM FOR RISK AND EXPERIMENTATION IN CONTEMPORARY VISUAL ARTS.
Periclo presents a programme of exhibitions, talks, screenings and performances. The space also provides research facilities through its reading room, with a particular focus on the relationship between artist and curator.
The exhibition programme and associated events provide artists an opportunity to test new ideas, to take risks and to experiment with content, themes and with display methods.
Established in 2015, Periclo originally formed the core exhibition programme for Oriel Wrecsam. Occupying a vacant retail unit for a two year programme of diverse and challenging activity
Between 2017-2019, Periclo was based within Wrexham Glyndwr University’s School of Creative Arts. Here Periclo occupied two rooms in the entrance to the school and delivered a programme of exhibitions, film screenings and reading groups.
Periclo is currently seeking a new home with plans for an expanded programme afoot.
